Biscuit Recipe's

Custard Biscuits

250g butter
1 cup castor sugar
1 cup custard powder
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
2 1/2 -3 cups cake flour (sifted)
1 teaspoon baking powderCream butter and sugar.

Beat in eggs &vanilla.

Stir in custard powder and mix well.

Add flour and baking powder and mixto a soft, manageable dough. Pipe into finger shapes.

Bake @ 180*C for 12 mins till golden. Cool completely.

To decorate biscuits

Dip ends of biscuits in melted chocolate and sprinkle ends with gold dust, chopped nuts, etc


Royal cream biscuits

250g butter or margarine ½ cup icing sugar, sifted ½ tsp almond essence 2 cups cake flour, sifted ½ cup Maizena (corn starch/flour), sifted

Method

Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius.

Beat the butter/margarine and icing sugar until light and creamy. 

Add the almond essence, flour and maizena gradually, mixing after each addition until the dough is soft yet pliable. 

Break the dough into little walnut-sized balls and shape into small rectangular pieces about 3mm high. 

Using a fork, make an indentation into each biscuit.  

Bake for approximately 20 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
